The WRSSAR has had a wonderful, long term relationship with the city and public school district of Gates Mills, Ohio. The 1st place winner is awarded a cash award of $100 at the parade.

Our Color Guard has lead the 4th of July parade for years and we consider it a huge honor to have the close relationship that we do with the city, the people, and the families of Gates Mills, Ohio.

The Gates Mills 4th of July Essay Contest is managed entirely within the school system in coordination with our committee chairman. Since details may change from time to time, we will not publish the contest rules on this page. However, if you are a student in Gates Mills, we encourage you to contact the school or our chapter for more information.

If your community is interested in creating its own 4th of July Essay Contest in collaboration with the WRSSAR, please let us know. We may be interested in expanding our program.
